These impact-absorbing and cushioning hardwood chips provide a safe and attractive surface for playgrounds, leisure areas, and gardens. Tested to BS EN 1177:2008 (Impact Attenuating Playground Surfacing), they effectively reduce the risk of injury from falls, making them particularly suitable for use under swings, slides, and climbing equipment. The chips are undyed, ensuring they won’t stain clothing, and they’re easy to maintain for lasting performance.

Beyond play areas, Heart of Eden Hardwood Play Chips serve beautifully as a decorative mulch for beds, borders, and pathways. They help suppress weeds, retain soil moisture, and provide a clean, natural finish to garden spaces — combining practicality with visual appeal.

Application Rate

Play areas: Apply to a finished depth of 10cm (4"). Increase to 20cm (8") in higher-risk areas such as beneath climbing frames, swings, and slides.

Beds and borders: Spread to a depth of 2.5–5cm (1–2"). A minimum of 5cm (2") is recommended for effective weed suppression without a barrier.

At Gardoo, we aim to make your bulk bag delivery of bark, compost and topsoil as smooth and straightforward as possible.

Delivery Times

Our standard economy delivery takes 3–4 working days, between 8am and 6pm.
You can also choose a later delivery date at checkout.

We’ll always do our best to deliver on time, but if delays occur due to factors beyond our control, we’ll contact you right away.

Delivery Areas

We deliver across England, Wales and most of Scotland.
Unfortunately, we can’t currently deliver to the Isle of Wight, Channel Islands or Scottish Highlands and Islands please contact us for a custom quote.

Kerbside Delivery

All Gardoo deliveries are kerbside only, meaning your order will be unloaded at the nearest safe and accessible point to your property.
We’re unable to deliver onto gravel, grass, or uneven surfaces, and drivers cannot lift goods over walls, steps, or fences.

Your order will arrive on a pallet and be unloaded using a tail lift or pallet truck where possible.
Please ensure someone is available to accept delivery and assist with unloading if required.

Vehicle Access

Delivery vehicles can be up to 20 tonnes (approx. 8m long × 4m wide × 5m high).
Please make sure your delivery address is easily accessible check for narrow roads, parked cars, trees, or low bridges.
If access is limited, get in touch before ordering to discuss options for smaller vehicles.

After Delivery

Once your goods have been delivered to the address provided, Gardoo cannot be held responsible for loss or damage.
Please take care when lifting or handling your order and follow safe manual handling practices.
